Reporting to the CEO to implement a strategic plan for the collection and its full integration into AltaMed’s health and human services at all its clinics and offices.

Led the creation of TeenTix LA based on the Seattle model that includes developing an Advisory Board, budgets, fundraising, creating local partnerships, strategic planning, and managing all digital components.

Advised President and CEO on strategic planning for corporate art collection of mostly Latinx/Chicanx art, working with senior staff and arts leaders in Los Angeles and Mexico to develop a mission, vision, and strategic plan for the collection.

I took a founder-created museum through a transition by organizing the board of directors, instituting board committees, reorganization of staff, diversifying sources of fundraising and earned revenue, and developing new exhibition interpretive materials and culturally diverse exhibitions and programming, while completing two years in the black. At the request of the Board of Directors, the museum closed down permanently in October 2018, and I was responsible for leading this process together with an external legal team and the Board.

After the museum hired an executive director, I was asked to stay on and built a new museum department that included education, communication and marketing, visitor services, and the new area of academic relations. Hired new staff, developed new goals, started Academic Advisory Committee, created digital plan and new exhibition interpretive materials, managed budgets, grants, volunteers, docents, and interns.

I was hired to help take the museum through a transition after it became part of the University of Southern California, including daily operations, master planning, working with the transition team, Office of the Provost, former museum board of directors and community, hiring and onboarding new staff.

Non-profit cultural organization founded by the Mexican government. Responsible for development, marketing, public relations & outreach, established budgets, managed programming, worked with schools and Mexican Consulate, created community partnerships, and curated Mexican and Latinx art exhibitions.

Part of a leadership team that launched the bilingual online journal LatinArt.com, creating a structure and editorial focus on contemporary art in Latin America and Latino art in the U.S. by meeting with curators, scholars, artists and galleries in Latin America, and managing local events and participation in art fairs.
